React allows users to access linguistic and culturally-specific resources to offset the dangers of a drug poisoning.
REACT is designed to help the wider community access life-saving information quickly so they can confidently respond to critical emergencies, overdoses, and gain rapid access to vital resources to help people get the help they need - right when they need it the most.
React allows individuals from different communities and language backgrounds to rapidly respond to a drug poisoning with guidance and resources that are suitable to their needs. React includes a built-in 9-1-1 calling feature, instructions on how to identify a suspected overdose, and steps to administer naloxone and perform emergency first aid response. It also provides information on services and programs available in the community. React allows everyone to access linguistic and culturally relevant resources to offset the dangers of an overdose.
Langley CARE (Community Action for Response & Empowerment) is a collaborative initiative between Langley City, Engaged Communities Canada Society, and Indigelink Digital Inc. It aims to strengthen Langley City’s capacity to respond effectively to drug poisonings through the integration of digital resources with local services, particularly via the React App.

“I created the artwork of a butterfly to help bring a bit of delicateness to an otherwise daunting crisis that the community is facing. The butterfly symbolizes a guardian looking over those in need (representing the perspective of the app user who will be accessing the resources).”
